SKI Doubaï

Ski Dubai was amazing! its crazy to think that its around 45° C outside and you are inside wearing a ski suit, gloves and skiing at -4° C and everything feels like skiing for real, with ski lifts and a Chalet in the middle to stop and have a drink! And the funniest part is once your done you bring back your skis and suits and leave with your t-shirt and flip flops!!! We had a great time skiing with the kids and it will make amazing memories! Thanks ;)

Maya Bay
In case you didn't know Maya Bay is where the movie "The Beach" was filmed! It is a truly beautiful beach! The beach is on Ko Phi Phi Lee the island next to the island we stayed at! just a short Long tail boat ride away!
Monkey Beach
We took a boat with another couple from the hotel and went to see monkey beach and a few other beaches around the island! When we got to monkey beach they were sooooo cute!!! And as soon as they saw our beer they did everything possible to get to it! as you can see in the pics one of them even jumped on Bens leg and another one jumped right on the one that was already on his leg it was really funny!
Then they actually took it out of our hands and ran off with the beers, and had a few sips before making funny faces and spilling it on them! haha We had a great time, but went back a few days later and we had to actually stay in the water because the monkeys were actually mean and tried to bite! It was so weird being on the same beach and seeing the same monkeys mean when just 3 days ago they would hold your hand and have a beer with you! haha But this time there was a lot of babies around so maybe that's why! Anyways we are just glad we had a great day with them at least once!
Ko Phi Phi
We were suppose to Stay in Ko Phi Phi (Ko meaning Island) for only 7 days but we liked it so much there that we ended up staying 9 or 10 days! Its a very small island but so pretty and just so nice to be on because there isn't any cars, just crazy bike drivers who you need to watch out for, but they do yell out "beep beep" to let you know they are behind you and would like to pass! haha its pretty funny at first! We had booked everything at a TAT agency in Bangkok and before Phi Phi we stayed in a great hotel in Phuket (sorry no pictures) and also booked the plane and boat ticket and the hotel on Phi Phi, so far everything had gone great, we had a great hotel in Phuket and thought we would have the same kind in Ko Phi Phi ... not so much! We passed by the hotel not even thinking it could be a hotel (that's how bad it was haha) when we checked in and went into the room we were just under shock! The room had 2 twin beds put together with a queen size mattress with a twine size mattress put together... you can just imagine! To get to the bathroom you had a little path (where we also had our bags ) and the bathroom was the worst thing ever, The toilet, sink and shower were all together in a very very small room, the shower was in between the toilet and the sink (so when you took a shower you could not, not get the toilet and walls wet) when you turned on the water in the sink the whole thing turned with it! haha anyways we couldn't stay 7 days in a room with AC but a window that didn't close! So the hotel across the side walk (since there is no roads in PHI PHI) had a beautiful pool and very cute bungalows (we actually thought that would of been our hotel at first)! With a lot of difficulty to understand and make our point that we didn't want to stay at this hotel we called the TAT agency (which was even harder to make our point on the phone since their english isn't the best) Ben actually understood them better then I. So after having the lady call us back 4 times we finally got the hotel we wanted for 4 extra euros a night! not bad hun?!?! and the difference what 20 times better!
Bangkok
We Stayed a few days in Bangkok and for the first time we really felt like we were in a whole other world! haha Its a big city but yet soooo different compared to all the other big cities we have done! So it was really nice to be somewhere totally different with people speaking a different language (even though at first I was scared of not getting understood) and everything written in crazy writing! haha But we didnt get to take the best pictures because it was cloudy every day except the day we left! lol But we will go back before we leave so we will try to take better pictures!
Sydney
While we were in Sydney it was Bens 24th Birthday so for his birthday we went to Bondi beach, ate at hungry Jack for lunch aka Bens favorite oz fast food, then went to a nice dinner, (where they song happy birthday really loud in front of everyone... he loved it... no actually he didnt but I love it ahahah) then went to see Ice Age 3 in 3D, then the hostel where we stayed at gave Ben a 70 dollar bar tap for the bar next door so we went there and partied !!!

Uluru Rock
We were told by some french guys we met at the Kings Canyon that you could climb the Uluru rock but it was hard, and then the next day we were told the opposite... that you shouldn't climb the Uluru rock because it has a meaning to the Aborigine people of Australia. Once we finaly got to the Rock after driving over 500 km. We saw lots of people climbing and coming down the Rock that Ben said "I just have to do it" ! so we climbed the Uluru Rock... Well Ben went to the top but I only went a little passed half way. I must say I'm not afraid of hights but once you start to climb there is so much wind and its just so high and steep, its actually pretty scary, plus its sooooooo much harder then it looks! When I got in front of it, I'm like this isnt going to be to hard... yea right!! Anyways after that we watched the Sun set because if you go to see the Uluru Rock and dont watch the Sun set, well there is just no point! lol Sunday, July 12, 2009
Kings Canyon
That day was a pretty busy day it was our last full day with the camper van so we had to hurry up and see Kings Canyon and Uluru Rock!! We woke up around 6:30 am and heard dingo dogs barking far way, well I don't know if barking is the word but they sounded like wolfs! lol Anyways we got to Kings Canyon about 7 and just on time to follow a group that was going to climb Kings Canyon too. So free tour for us!!! woo hoo but I must say the guide wasn't that great he mostly just talked about trees and guided the group on where to go, but where to go was pretty much obvious, so we didn't follow them for to long and took our time enjoying the view and of course do what we do best... took tons of pictures!!!! (which I hope the slid show isn't too long but it was so pretty that we want to share with you our many pictures that are must sees, its tough pick the best ones!) Anyways the walk was obviously amazing to us and took us about 3 hours and it was about 6 km if I remember correctly. Once finished with the walk we still hadn't had breakfast so we were starving, so we parked the camper van a little after the parking lot, near a pic-nic area. And guess who we saw driving by us ... our Swiss friend, who were about to go on the walk we just did and had just gotten back from the Uluru Rock. And since you have to pay 25 dollars to go see the Rock (valid 3 days) they gaved us their pass since they still had a day left on their pass and they weren't gonna go back, and in exchange they just asked to send the passes pack to them as a souvenir! So that was really great for us because we didn't really want to have to pay 25 dollar per person for just an afternoon!
Alice Springs
Just a little reminder...

We saw this sign a few times while driving in the desert!!
So once we got to the Alice Springs airport we thought we would just rent a car and it would be easy!! WRONG!! We got to this tiny airport, the ones where when you get off the plane out side and half to walk back in ! lol once we got our bags we went to look for a car to rent, but they were all either out of cars or it was about 130 au$ per day so we thought that was a bit to much and would try to find something cheaper once in the City! We met a swiss couple who wanted to share a cab to go into town because in alice springs they dont have buses !! For the first time at an airport we had to wait for taxis to come, and not the way around where taxis wait for you to come lol! So we waited about 20, and while we waited our new Swiss friends, who were in the same situation as us and need a car they started to call some camper van companies! We ended up taking the last 2 camper vans we could find but it was a huge camper van(like a little studio haha) nothing like the little Jucy one from NZ, this one had a shower and toilet, a real sink(not one where you have to pump for water haha) with hot water and everything! But also a lot harder to drive, and this time I wasn't allowed to drive since I'm under 21... But i don't think i would of wanted to drive such a big thing! ahah

The next Day we were off to see the famous Uluru Rock aka Alyers Rock but since I'm not the best map reader... I got us lost and we ended at West MacDonnell National Park which is about a good 200 km detour! whoops my bad! :( So we ended up sleeping at The Ellery Creek Big hole, where we only payed 6.60 to park our camper van and sleep! lol Anyways it was still a very pretty spot where we saw a beautiful sunrise ! And i must say me making us take a big detour wasn't that bad because the next day we spent the whole day driving and it rained that day, so it wouldn't of been a good day to see those beautiful rocks anyways. lol

Brisbane
Brisbane was really nice, and we really enjoyed it! Its a very active city with always stuff going on at night and during the day on the streets. But its wasnt one of those busy cities where everyone is always running around like in New York or Sydney but just busy fun! if that makes sences ! lol And the people in Brisbane were really nice and helpful and always happy to give you a tip on where to go or what to see or do! And just really Friendly! I must say we didnt do a whole lot during our 10 days in Brisbane, because we were just happy to just relax and not have to rush and go see everything in a few days, especially after 2 months of non stop train and visiting the USA and then 2 weeks of trying to see the most of New Zealand we could in a camer van! lol so it just felt great to sleep in and just walk around the city! We did take the City cat all along the river to see Brisbane and its houses along the river, which was really nice. Oh and Brisbane has a fake beach across the bridge with white send and a pool that looks like beach water and people just go there like it was a regular beach and tan on the send and go swimming with the city as a view. They even have a life guard on duty! lol
And I'll be honest and say that we did spend a lot of time at the state library for their free internet where we put the blog back to date! we had a lot of work we hadnt done anything since Vegas! So we had a lot of work and as you can see we are still late since right now we are in Thailand and still need to do all of Australia! :)

Tongariro National Park
Some things about Tongariro National Park
- The three volcanoes at the heart of the park - the mountains Tongariro, Ngauruhoe and Ruapehu form the southern limits of the Taupo Volcanic Zone. Volcanic activity in the zone started about 2 million years ago and is on-going today.
- Ruapehu and Ngauruhoe are two of the most active composite volcanoes in the world
- The fact that the volcanoes are still active doesn't bother people from skiing down their slopes and hiking to their craters. But they do have a monitoring system that provides early warning of eruptions.
- Ruapehu had the honour of playing Mount Doom in the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
- The mountains of this national park has deep spiritual significance for the Maori people. Legend has it that the high priest Ngatoroirangi was frozen in a snowstorm while exploring Tongariro and called to Hawaiki, the traditional Polynesian homeland of the Maori, for fire. His prayer was answered, via the channel we now call the Pacific Rim of Fire, and the mountain erupted.
New Zealand Continues
Wai-O-tapu is a Geothermal area, one of the most colorful thermal park, with mud pools, crater lakes, and sulphur vents! Its a pretty smelly place as you can probably tell from all the things you will see ... and my face!!
Some things about Wai-O-Tapo
- Wai-O-Tapu means 'Sacred Water'
- Wai-O-Tapu is associated with volcanic activity dating back about 160,000 years and is located right on the edge of the largest volcanic caldera (depression) within the active Taupo Volcanic Zone.
- Beneath the ground at Wai-O-Tapu is a system of streams which are heated by magma left over from earlier eruptions. The water is so super heated that it absorbs the minerals out of the rocks through which it passes and conveys them to the surface as steam where they are ultimately absorbed into the ground. The wide range of colours are all natural and are due to different mineral elements.
- The Geyser Lady Knox has a special trick to her timely eruptions! Discovered by a gang of prisoners washing their clothes in the early 1900s, the geyser erupted, shooting hot water 20 meters into the air after the men had unwittingly poured soap into the spout. Now all it takes to get old Lady Knox firing is a bit of soap every day at roughly 10am!

New Zealand
Here is a first look at New Zealand.
I must tell you that after spending the begining of the summer in LA and getting to New Zealand where its the begining of winter, with the leafs falling and changing colors its a pretty weird feeling! And having all the cars driving the wrong way is pretty scary, we almost got runed over a few times because we looked on the wrong side of the road before crossing!! haha
Then Driving on the other side is a whole other story! every time i wanted to put the turning signal it turned the windshield wipers on! haha Every time, even after driving for 2 weeks i still had it wrong! But driving isn't as scary as I thought, its actually scarier to be sitting in the passenger sit then actually driving!

On the set of Date Night
So on our way back to our hotel in LA we saw huge spotlights and police closing off a street, so of course nosy as we are we go check it out! And they were filming a movie!!! its called Date Night and its with Steve Carell (from the office and the 40 year old virgin) and Tina Fey ( not sure what she played in haha)! So that was pretty exciting we stayed there for about a good 3 hours trying to get even closer to Steve Carell and trying to get a better picture and just watching how it was done! The funny part in all this was that they were filming in the streets of LA with New York City taxis haha. They also had an Audi A8 cut in half to film them inside up close while they where "driving", they made a fake accident with a taxi and filmed over and over the taxi driver getting mad! They also broke the front windshield (but not while they where filming) and Tina Fey got scared and screamed hahah. then right before we left they were putting both half of the Audi back together and starting to pretend shooting at each other! But we didn't stay for that because it was getting really late and we had to move farther back and couldn't see as well!
finding the Hollywood sign!!
So we were told to take the "Dash" bus to go see the Hollywood sign. But they didnt tell us that the bus only took us to the hollywood neighborhood and not the actual sign! (not even close to the sign) we asked the bus driver how far it was and how to get to it and he said its just up the street! so we start walking and walking and walking and finally I asked someone that lived there if we were going the right way because we had been walking for about 15min up hill and we didnt seem to get any closer to the sign. He told me it was just about a mile up and to turn right on a street (that i forgot the name once we got to it) so we are up there and there is 3 different streets so we tryed to see where all the cars were going but of course they were all going different ways! So we randomly picked one. There was alot of cars going to the sign and I told Ben "Men all those cars are going up there anyways, they could at least offer a ride"... ten mins later a guy with a Audi SUV Q7 ( the pretty car behind us) asked us if we were going up to the sign! He gave us a ride up, took pictures of us, and drove us back down to the bus stop! On the way down we stoped in front of some famous MTV guys house (because he had to water the yeard) then he showed us where Madona use to live and where Lindsay Lohans girlfriend Sam lives, (and told us about how they got into a fight and threw stuff out the window haha) anyways that was pretty cool of him to drive us up and back down!
Our Suite in LA
So since we booked all our hotels with hotels.com after 10 nights you get one free night! and it can go up to 450 dollars, but ours was only 435 dollars haha! We actually wanted to stay an extra night and book our free night in Las Vegas at the Bellagio but our bus tickets wouldnt let us change the date. So we saved it for LA which was better because we took it for our last night in the States and our one year Anniversary!
P.S. As you can see we were very excited !

New Mexico
Taos Pueblos
- The Pueblo is made entirely of adobe -- earth mixed with water and straw, then either poured into forms or made into sun-dried bricks. The walls are frequently several feet thick. The roofs of each of the five stories are supported by large pieces of woods.
- the whole roof is covered with packed dirt. The outside surfaces of the Pueblo are continuously maintained by replastering with think layers of mud.
- The Pueblo is actually many individual homes, built side-by-side and in layers, with common walls but no connecting doorways. In earlier days there were no doors or windows and entry was gained only from the top.
- The village, which is one of the oldest continuously inhabited communities in North America, was designated a World Heritage Site and a National Historic Site in 1992.

Surprise Surprise ...
Dress and shoes from Ross = 32 dollars
Shorts and Vest = 20 dollars
Public transportation instead of Limo = 1.50 per person
Getting married in Vegas on a trip around the world = priceless
There are some things money can't buy (ex: Love) ... for everything else there's MasterCard
San Fransisco is a very pretty city. We had a lot of fun riding those famous cable cars! Though we were sorta rushed because we weren't staying very long we still got to do almost everything we wanted to do! Even though the few days we stayed it was cloudy with this very thin rain we still enjoyed San Fransisco very much and found it very pretty so I can't imagine what its like when its all sunny with blue Sky !!
Virginia City, Nevada
Virginia City is this tiny little city... well its pretty much just a street! lol But it is just oh so cute! Its this little old western town, its just like it was when it was built, its like going back in time! And once again Karen and David let us borrow their other awesome car! Ben very much enjoyed driving his first real pick up! :) Thanks again to Karen and David for being so kind and inviting us to stay at your house with such open arms and letting us use your cars! We very much enjoyed our little stop by Reno!

Lake Tahoe, Nevada
Here are some pics for Lake Tahoe about 30 minutes from Reno, where we stayed with some of my dads nicest friends we've ever met! They were so welcoming, caring, and full of good energy, we had such a good time with them! They let us borrow their awesome car (which I wish I had the same! hehe) to go visit Lake Tahoe which is a beautiful lake that is part in Nevada and part in California . The water in some areas is crystal clear! Its just a beautiful place to go see with the mountains around but yet you have little beaches of sand with this Crystal blue water, its so nice! Oh and you can also see Ben and David on David's new toy the big red tractor which Ben had fun driving around in their yard and making holes! lol
P.S. Don't forget to click on the pictures to see them bigger!

Salt Lake City

Well in Salt Lake City there isnt much to see other then the Mormon Temples so again we dont have many pictures! We didnt get to see the Salted City because it was like 30 min away and there wasnt any bus going there! But we had a great hotel with inside pool and a jacuzzi!!
Denver, Colorado

So here is a few pictures of Denver... yes yes we know there isn't that many pictures, but its Denver not much to see unless you rent a car! And we wanted to rent a car but I got sick right after that picture of me was taken, so we ended up staying in the hotel room for 2 days! Good thing it was a nice hotel! But Denver sure did look like a cute little city, calm but very cute!

In the Train
The train from Denver, Colorado to Salt Lake City, Utah was breath taking, but apparently I slept threw the prettiest which was when we left Denver and went threw the snowy mountains and Ben was so amazed by it that he didn’t take pictures and just enjoy. So I guess I’ll never know what I really missed but I do know the rest of the ride was amazing ! So I still enjoyed the most part, and since I didn’t see what I missed and saw tons of other things I don’t mind! And then we met a Swiss guy (from the German part, but spoke French and English) and a crazy but very funny girl from Colorado, who will most likely meet us in Las Vegas for some partying! So we got to enjoy the sight seeing during the day and have a good time chatting with 2 new people! I think this was the funnest train ride yet! And I hope we’ll have more rides like this one! Even though we got to Salt Lake City at 1am in stead of 11pm and the fact that they didn't tell us we were in Salt Lake City and so we had to rush off the train and I left my Ipod in the seat! It was a great ride! haha I guess in the end you just have to laugh at these kind of situation! Shit Happens what are you gonna do about it! haha
And plus I didn't realize I had lost my Ipod until 4 days later when I was packing!

Chicago
I found Chicago full of character! A lot of the streets are just like in the movies! Its a nice city to visit because its not too big but big enough to have fun! They have an outside metro (which they call the train, which always confused me since we are taking to train across the states so i never knew which train they were talking about haha) anyways the train is pretty cool cause you get to see the city and you are above the driving streets, so you go threw the same way the cars do but without the lights! Though they have lots of stop stations, and actually have intersections which we found pretty funny!
They also have this Silver bean in the Millennium Park that is just the coolest art related thing i have ever seen! It has tons of different effects when you go under it, you even feel kinda dizzy, and its just great to take awesome picture!

Washington
Washington, DC

Now lets talk a little about Charleston! The train station was 2 miles from our hotel which was north of Charleston so we weren’t in the actual city. By bus it took us about 25 minutes I think. But hey for 35 dollars a night it was great! And the hotel was very nice too. Though I didn’t find north Charleston very nice the down town of Charleston is very nice to visit and definitely worth seeing! it’s a clam city, very peaceful and full of charm ! You can visit the city by just walking down streets all of them just as pretty as the others! Or take a trolley that drives all around down town and you can get on and off as you want! I was really happy we made a stop by Charleston, even though it wasn’t originally planed, we had a great time!

St.Petersburg, FL
Miami International airport
After spending 2 wonderful weeks in Guadeloupe we are off back to Miami only to spend the night on Miami’s International Airport‘s floor, with a lady giving us the current local time every 15 minutes, and giving us the instruction (in English and in Spanish ) on what to do if there was and unattended bag left somewhere! And if that didn’t keep me from sleeping the excitement of being back in St. Pete and see all my friends again sure didn’t help either! But as we were waiting for our flight to Tampa something pretty funny happened! Ben went to get something to eat and I was just sitting doing things on the computer, when from the corner of my eye I see someone wanting to sit, so I just move my back without looking and continue doing what I was doing and seconds later Ben sits in front of me and says « hey Kelly isn’t that the guy from you magazine?? » so I look over and yes, yes it is the guy from my magazine but I couldn’t remember his name until seconds later some lady calls out Mr. Hogan ! (most of you from France probably don’t have a clue who he is, but I use to actually watch his drama show where they filmed him and his family at home, but before he made that show he is a professional wrestler) anyways we took a few picture with him, just because you don’t see someone famous everyday! And then he was on the same flight as us! So that was our excitement of the morning! haha
Here we are with Hulk Hogan!
St. Petersburg
Being in St. Pete was really nice. I got to see some old friends, all my old houses that I’ve missed, my old neighbors who no matter how many times I come and go over the years are always as welcoming and its always as nice to see them and catch up every time! And boy have the kids grown up! But its great to see them doing so good! I had a great time catching up with my friends Ashley and Ryan (and their 2 adorable kids Rylee and Matthew ) who I hadn’t seen in years! Its always good to have old friend that you can just act like nothing has changed even though its been 3 years since the last time we’ve seen each other !
We went to Busch Gardens and got to show Ben what real rollercoaster are like! And went to Adventure Island for some fun water slides which is right across the street from Busch Gardens !
I also go to show Ben all the places I use to go growing up, like my old school, my old houses (except for the one that has been torn down haha … that was quit a surprise there!) all my favorite streets, neighborhoods, stores, and the Pier and Bay Walk were I spend all my Friday and Saturday nights! I showed him every little things that you miss when you move away and that are just so common to people who live there everyday and don’t even pay attention to it!
St. Petersburg
